He also previously acquired and redeveloped a former Indianapolis school that was headed toward demolition — helping it evolve into an arts community and later condominium redevelopment. That experience demonstrated both sides of adaptive reuse: the extraordinary potential and the enormous amount of time, capital and local execution it requires.

As a father of three and cancer survivor, he is building School Revival Fund around a simple constraint:
