Apply

We have more opportunities than we can pursue.

A building alone is not enough. We want to understand the people and institutions that will help make it work.

We favor communities that can answer “yes” to most of these

  • Does local government want the property reused?
  • Is there a clear point person who communicates?
  • Can the community provide accurate tax, zoning and building information?
  • Is there a lawful path to carrying-cost relief during stabilization if needed?
  • Are there local artists, entrepreneurs, educators, employers or organizations that need space?
  • Is there local demand for events, offices, studios, training or services?
  • Is broadband reliable?
  • Will local organizations help recruit users and operators?
  • Is the community willing to measure and communicate results?
  • Is the building worth saving?

What makes an application stand out

Don't just tell us the building is cheap.

Tell us what your community wants to build with it.

Apply as a Community

Tell us why your community — not just the building — should be part of the School Revival portfolio.
